Spice up your next BBQ with these flavor-packed dogs.
8 Berks Grill Franks or All Beef Franks
1/2 cup store bough BBQ Sauce, plus extra to use as a condiment
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 Tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 medium red onion thinly sliced
8 hot dog buns
1/3 cup Sweet relish
Place the franks in a large sealable plastic bag. Pour the 1/2 cup BBQ sauce over the franks making sure to completely cover the franks. Put in the refrigerator and let sit for 1 hour.
In a small bowl whisk together the vinegar, honey, salt and pepper. Place the sliced onions in the bowl and stir to combine. Let sit for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
Heat a griddle, non stick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat or prepare an outdoor grill. Remove the franks from the BBQ marinade, shaking off any excess marinade.
Cook the franks on the grill, turning often until the franks are heated through, and charred on the outside, about 5 minutes. Remove the Franks and toast the buns on the grill. Place the franks in the buns. Top each frank with the extra BBQ sauce. Strain the onions and top the franks with the marinated onions and sweet relish.
